Buffs in Nebraska

This blog will be told from my own experience as a CU Buffaloes fan driving down to Lincoln, Nebraska for the rivalry game. If you did not already know, I have spent the majority of my life in the Boulder area, and have been a buffs fan my whole life. When I got the opportunity to go the game in Lincoln, I couldn't turn it down. I was expecting the worst when I got there, as CU fans are not known for their spectacular hospitality for visitors cheering for the away team. Although I was surrounded by a sea of red, I found everybody to be extremely nice and were so excited that we were there, and that we would see a Nebraska game in person for the first time. I had only heard stories about how seriously Nebraskans take their football, and I was shocked to see how they lived up to their reputation. As a matter of fact, it was a little hard to see as a buffs fan. The stadium seating 90,000 loyal fans was one of, if not THE loudest sporting event that I have ever been to, and I can't say I ever saw ANYBODY sit down in their seat, not even for halftime. I often found myself looking over to my friends when the buffs had the ball on a third down in disbelief of just how rowdy the (dry) stadium was. Overall the production of it all was crazy. Flames, fireworks, red balloons, banners, and a drone show for a college football game definitely made me jealous. No matter who your a fan of, I would absolutely say that a Nebraska football game in Nebraska should be on every sports fans bucket list.
